Climate in Turkey
The climate of Turkey changes from temperate to subtropical and continental.
The climate of the Mediterranean Sea region is mild with hot summer and rainy warm winter. The coldest weather period is from December to February. At this period the everage temperature are +6…+8 in the daytime and +14…+16 at night. Hot weather period starts in June and lasts till September. At this period the everage temperature at night in Turkey is +19…+22 and +30…+34 in the day time. July and August are the hotest monthes of the year. The level of precipitation is about 2 mm in that monthes. The highest level of precipitation is in December and in January(230-260 mm). The everage amount of sun in this region is 320-330 days in the year. The temperature of water in the sea becomes not lower then +16 degree in winter time and the highest its degree is in July and August(+25…+26).
The climate of Black Sea region is also mild. The coldest period of time is from January to March. At this time the temperature varies from +3 to +5 at night time and it can be +10…+12 in the daytime. The warmest season is from June to August , in that period the temperature at night is not lower then +15 degree and in the daytime +23…+27. The lowest level of precipitations is in July and August (32-33 mm). The highest level of precipitations is in the period of October-December( more then 80 mm at month). The everage temperature of the sea water is +15…+16 in the period of January-April, +17…+24 May-August and +16…+22 September-December.
The climate of the central part of Turkey is temperate-continental with the hot dry summer and cold winter. İn winter season the temperature at night is lower then 0 and in the daytime it can be +1…+6 degree above zero. The hotest time of the year is from June to September(+13…+16 at night and till +30 in the daytime). The driest month of the year is August, the level of precipitation reaches only 10 mm. The most rainy season is April and May(40-50 mm of precipitation at month). The everage amount of sunny days on this territory is 290-300 per year.
On the East of the country the difference between temperatures is really contrasted. İn this region the climate is sharply continenal. The winter lasts from November till May, the coldest monthes of it are January and Fabruary. At this period night temperatures are -11…-12 and daytime temperatures are -2…-4 degree bellow zero. The warmest monthes are June and August with the everage temperatures +11…+12 at night and +26…+27 degee in the daytime. The lowest level of precipitation is in Augus (18 mm), the rainiest month is May(about 70 mm precipitation). There are 250-270 sunny days in the year on this territory.
